Benefits of Becoming a Friend

Pride of being a “Friend”

The sense of pride of being a supporter of the Lake District Calvert Trust as a provider of life changing opportunities for people with disabilities and their families. As a group the Friends can achieve more than just individual contributions and many have gone on to be more actively involved.

Fundraising Projects

As Friends our focus for fundraising has been the funding of replacement minibuses that are essential for transporting our visitors to many of the Centres activities. These minibuses are heavily customised and cost more than £55,000 each.

Fundraising Events

We usually have three major Friends fundraising ticketed events each year. These can be typically plays, concerts or cruises at beautiful locations in the Lake District. Friends are always given priority on tickets. In addition we have ‘street’ collections manned by Friends.
