Discover the healing power of horses
Our special taster session is designed for home-educated children with special educational needs (SEN), offering a welcoming and supportive introduction to horses and riding.
Based at Calvert Stables, just outside Keswick, the session will give children the chance to meet the ponies, spend time around the horses and learn about horses and the stables in a safe, supportive environment.
For some children, simply being around horses can be a rewarding experience. This session can help encourage confidence, communication, independence and physical development, while giving children the opportunity to try something new at their own pace.
There’s no pressure to have any experience with horses or riding either. Our friendly, experienced team will provide support throughout the session and adapt activities to suit individual needs and abilities.
Whether your child is horse-mad or has never been near a pony before, our taster sessions are a chance to come together, learn new skills and discover what’s possible with the help of a four-legged friend.
