Accessible hydrotherapy pool and sauna

Swimming at Calvert Lakes

A firm favourite with our guests is our wonderfully warm hydrotherapy pool. Maintained at around 32°C, our water centre features a range of sensory toys, has light projectors and music, a sauna and a sensational view through floor-ceiling windows.

The swimming pool is available for both guest and visitor use and can be booked by either. Booking is essential and we have a choice of sessions including quiet swims, twilight swims and early bird swims.

We have two group changing rooms each with two showers, two family changing rooms with a shower and toilet, a separate toilet and two poolside changing rooms with full ceiling tracking hoists, changing tables, shower chairs and direct hoist access into the pool. The water centre can be accessed by lift and has a sensory room above which is also available for hire.

In addition to these we have an additional poolside hoist with a chair seat. The floor of the pool is also raisable and can be adjusted on request to make the pool shallower for those with mobility requirements. The steps into the pool are wide and shallow with handrails either side for easier access. At the side of the pool is a sauna which can be used on request.

Within the pool itself is a water fountain, bubble mat and jacuzzi seating, all controlled with poolside buttons. Lights, blinds and music can be controlled with a wall-mounted tablet for the ultimate sensory experience.

Swimming is not only great exercise, spending time in warm water is beneficial for people of all ages. It’s a great relaxant, is super fun and can be enjoyed by people of all abilities.

Funding for adventure breaks

We’re committed to making our activity breaks accessible to as many people as possible, which is why limited bursary funding is available to help reduce the cost. Because our funding is often restricted, we prioritise those who’d most benefit from financial assistance. While we cannot guarantee support for every enquiry, we encourage anyone facing financial barriers to get in touch. Our team is here to guide you through the process and help you explore the options available.
