Adventure breaks for community groups
Each year, we proudly welcome a diverse range of charities, clubs, associations and community groups. With personalised support from first contact to final farewells, our dedicated team works closely with you to design an adventure that meets the unique needs of your group. We’re confident that by the time you leave, your group will carry our ‘can do’ spirit home with you, alongside a renewed sense of confidence, joy, and possibility. Calvert Lakes is more than just a place to visit. It’s a place where you can be unapologetically you.

Remember – only one member needs to have a disability for everyone in your group to visit us!
Challenging disability through outdoor adventure is at the heart of what we do. Guests are invited to try new activities, meet new people and push boundaries to experience ambition and achievement. Building confidence, resilience and independence occurs naturally here as we encourage people to challenge themselves in a safe and supportive environment.
As a group, you will be able to book dates at any time of year, subject to availability. You can choose how big a group to bring, from 12 up to 60 people, with accessible rooms to suit even the most complex needs.
Benefit from exclusive use of the centre for groups over 54 people too where you can choose your activities and menus, depending on the needs of your group.
We’re proud to be flexible and adaptable to ensure you get the residential break that best suits your tribe. Choose from day activities during the quiet months, 2-4 night midweek stays, or come across a long weekend.
With different options to suit the requirements of your group, our friendly bookings team strive to make your stay as seamless as possible.
Stays at Calvert Lakes include accommodation in accessible ensuite rooms, full board meals and exciting activities tailored to your group. In addition to this, you’ll have dedicated instructors during your stay and use of our hydrotherapy swimming pool and communal spaces.
Our accommodation features twin beds, triple and quads, as well as interconnecting rooms and exclusive corridor or building use for your group.
If you haven’t visited us before, join one of our ‘Open Doors’ events and stay with us for free! Perfect for group leaders who want to make sure an activity break at Calvert meets and exceeds your expectations.

All of our rooms accommodate a minimum of two guests and are equipped with fully accessible ensuite bathrooms. We have profiling or raisable beds, with and without sides, to support individual comfort and care needs.
We also provide additional accessibility equipment on request to ensure every guests requirements are met.
School groups have their own exclusive corridor or building, which can be securely locked down accordingly if required, offering added privacy, supporting safeguarding measures and providing peace of mind.
All food is prepared on site by our team of chefs, and where possible using locally sourced produce from local suppliers. Our dining room is a communal space where you will have your own tables for your group with breakfast and evening meals at set times. Our chefs ensure your dietary requirements are met whether blending, allergies or intolerances.
Every day starts with a cooked breakfast plus toast, cereal and hot drinks.
For lunch, there’s soup, sandwiches, crisps, fruit and tray bakes. We also provide packed lunches to help you make the most of your time outdoors.
In the evenings enjoy a hearty 3 course meal with a choice of salad or soup to start, a selection of mains and tempting desserts. Hot drinks are available all day and there’s a fridge to store your own snacks.
At Calvert Lakes, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the joys of outdoor adventure. We also understand that the cost of a residential stay can be a barrier. Thanks to the hard work of our fundraising team, we have regular releases of bursary funding that can further help support your residential stay with us.
