Amara and Danny have been coming to Calvert Lakes for years and think they should have their very own room here by now! They love meeting their friends here, trying new activities and spending quality time together somewhere safe, familiar and comfortable. We caught up with them at our 50th birthday party in March to talk about their experiences of Calvert.

My name’s Amara, and I like Stitch.
Some people call me Stitch.
I like Calvert because I like to meet a lot of good staff here and a lot of people. I really love doing biking because it’s my favourite thing to do, and the archery is awesome for me to do archery as well, I’ve got to say about archery. And the bushcraft, what I do is very good.
Are you ready, Harry?
Oh, give it a sec. Oh, you give me too hot.
Oh.

You can make, make your own … make your own fire.
Yeah.

Those things. Those sharpie things that you use.
Yeah, the sharpie things.
Oh, the swing in the sports hall … sports hall. I’ve gone on it first.
You’ve seen me go on and you’ve gone, “Oh, I’ll go on it.
Haven’t you, Babs?”
So you’ve copied me off a bit there, so it’s good.
If you go up really high, you feel like something’s floating in your tummy. So you go from high to low, and you go down like a slide a bit, and then it just goes into a swing then, a normal swing.
Ice cream.

The instructors are really nice, aren’t they? Especially the ones that we’ve had.

It’s fun. There’s activities you can do outdoor and indoor.
You can chill when it’s time.
I think the food is outstanding.
The food is nice.
And the drinks are outstanding.
You can get away from home and have a bit of a holiday with your friends and family. Because we come more and more often, it feels like we’re going to end up living here.
