Everything you need to know
We’re delighted you’ve booked to use our state-of-the-art swimming pool here at Calvert Lakes. Please take a few minutes in advance of your visit to carefully watch our Pool Induction film which will highlight everything you need to know – particularly our safety features.
NB: you will be asked to sign a declaration on arrival confirming the you have watched this film.
The pool is 1.5 m deep and there is no life guard present
You are responsible for supervising your own pool sessions
For the safety of all swimmers, it is essential that sensible, responsible behaviour is demonstrated at all times and these pool rules are complied with. Diving, pushing or larking about is not permitted.
The Calvert Trust reserves the right to refuse entry or require users to immediately vacate the pool in the event of these rules not being followed.
Take a look at our quick reference guide to what you need to know when visiting the Calvert Lakes pool.
Confident swimmers age 8 to 17 years
Anyone 8 to 17 years old who is a confident swimmer does not require close supervision but will require the supervision of the competent adults present in the session as defined above. They do not fall under specific supervision ratios.
Disabled pool users requiring one to one supervision
There must be enough adults present to allow 1:1 supervision of any disabled participant who requires this level of support whilst maintaining the required number of competent adults as defined in the above.
Changing Room Facilities
There is one shared toilet available for use in the pool area.
A pool session is 1.5hrs including changing before and after (where applicable) unless agreed in advance.
ALL pool users (or representative) must sign in at Reception upon arrival. Please do not enter the water centre until your allotted swim time and proceed directly into the pool area.
The poolside accessible changing rooms (numbers 3 & 4) are reserved for use by disabled pool users and their carers who require hoisting and / or changing bed facilities.
Hoisting equipment must only be used by trained adults due to the risk of serious injury if used incorrectly. Carers are responsible for ensuring that a moving and handling risk assessment has been completed for all participants that require hoisting.
