With stays available throughout the year across weekends and school holidays, there are plenty of opportunities to spend quality time away with your favourite people. Our activity centre is fully accessible, and our activities can be adapted to even the most complex needs. Take time away from the daily grind and get back to nature together at our magical place.

Family breaks at Calvert Lakes
Family breaks at Calvert Lakes offer the perfect blend of adventure and quality time together in the heart of the Lake District. With fully accessible accommodation and a friendly, experienced team, every family member can enjoy a break tailored to their needs. From canoeing and sailing to cycling, climbing and nature walks, there’s something for all ages and abilities to experience and enjoy.
Multi-activity adventures
Enjoy a weekend (three night), mid-week (four night) or full week (seven nights) break and take in the gorgeous surroundings of Keswick and the northern Lake District.
Themed stays
Join us for Easter, or Halloween, the festive season or dark skies in winter. We love celebrating the changing seasons with themed activity breaks in the heart of the Lake District.
Equestrian breaks
These dedicated weekend activity breaks offer a wonderfully immersive equine experience enjoying the wellbeing benefits of spending time with horses.

We specialise in adaptive, accessible and inclusive adventure breaks that offer a wonderful choice of exciting activities to try. Our centre has an adaptable climbing wall and wheelchair challenge course, high ropes, zip wire and archery range. Outside of Calvert Lakes, we take groups ghyll scrambling, walking/pushing, climbing and sailing, and there truly is something for everyone.
Your stay, your way
If you are an extended family or a group of up to 12 friends and family, then why not consider a bespoke stay? We can create a visit just for you – you’ll have dedicated instructors with you for the duration and we’ll do our best to create an itinerary that includes as many of your preferred activities as we can accommodate. “We just wanted to send a note to say thank you very much for such a fantastic weekend, we came from 3-5 November and had a great time. We were lucky with the weather but even if it hadn’t been dry and sunny we are sure we would have had a great time.
Dan was a great instructor – so supportive and inclusive and friendly (as were all the staff we met). The activities were all fun and the pace and instruction level were perfect for our group. Jack said his best bit was playing pool with a shandy, watching the football with Dan and he would definitely come again. Esme said she loved the campfire and marshmallows and the big swing. We all enjoyed the big swing but I think that being out on the lake in such beautiful weather was mine and Steve’s favourite.
It was a fun weekend which went much better than we thought it might with the needs of our group. We will definitely be back.

We’re committed to making our activity breaks accessible to as many people as possible, which is why limited bursary funding is available to help reduce the cost. Because our funding is often restricted, we prioritise those who’d most benefit from financial assistance. While we cannot guarantee support for every enquiry, we encourage anyone facing financial barriers to get in touch. Our team is here to guide you through the process and help you explore the options available.
