Riding lessons for children
Whatever your experience or ability, learn to ride or build on existing skills at Calvert Stables on the outskirts of Keswick.
Calvert Stables is both British Horse Society (BHS) approved and Riding for the Disabled (RDA) accredited. Meet our herd of well-trained, super gentle ponies looked after by our dedicated team of riding instructors and volunteers.
With both indoor and outdoor arenas, we operate year round, whatever the weather. Blessed by our location, we can also ‘hack out’ and help you with fell-riding as well as all-important road safety.
Our kids riding lessons are ideal for riders aged 4-17 years old who weigh 12 stone (76kg or 118lb) and under.

How to book
You can either pay for a block of 6 lessons online and contact us to book individual sessions, or email us directly. Block bookings benefit from a subscription rate and offer excellent value for regular and aspiring riders.
