Current fundraising projects

Our capital projects are investments in long-term, life-changing impact. By supporting these projects, you help us provide essential equipment, facilities, spaces and funds that allow us to help more people with disabilities access incredible adventures. Our project work creates lasting infrastructure that goes beyond immediate needs. We’re investing in strong foundations that ensure we can help people for years to come.

Sensory Room Update

We recently received funding to update our sensory room. This is an interactive space designed to support people who feel overwhelmed by noise, light, or stress. It uses soft lighting, soothing sounds, textured objects, and comfortable seating to help regulate emotions. Sensory rooms are used to promote relaxation, focus, and wellbeing as well as to stimulate the senses.

Enabling Adventure Fund

Our Enabling Adventure Fund allows us to offset the cost of residential stays for those who need it most. We understand that living with disability is expensive, which is why this fund is so important. Unrestricted funding ensures we can help more people access incredible experiences, although we also accept restricted donations, depending on the aims and outcomes of each funder.

Past Projects

Accommodation Renovation

Between 2024-2025 we raised funds towards updating and renovating our accommodation. The rooms in the Byres we completed first and benefitted from repainting, new bathrooms and new ceiling tracking hoists which will make a huge difference to wheelchair users staying with us. At the end of 2025 and into 2026, we completed the renovations of the Farmhouse building which was also repainted and bathrooms spruced up.

New Sailing Gig

Generous donations from the Noall family, Sport England, The Whirlwind Charitable Trust and Lakeland Disability Support enabled Church House Boats to build and deliver a new sailing gig, the Sylvie. Larger and more accessible than our existing sailing resources, Sylvie can seat up to 12 guests at a time and has adaptive seating which means configuration can be shifted based on needs of our groups. With wheelchair clamping points for those who are reliant on constant support from their chairs, this asset is invaluable for offering adaptive and inclusive sailing experiences for a broader range of needs.
