Trustee
Martin Mullin

In 2013 my wife and I formally started to execute on a long held plan of retirement to Cumbria with the purchase of a lodge on the outskirts of Keswick.   We had spent many family holidays and long weekends in Cumbria over the last 25 years and had long held the desire to eventually retire to Keswick.  We expect this plan to take a few years but our responsibilities to our daughters are gradually diminishing as one has completed her university education and is now entering the world of work whilst our younger daughter is studying for her degree.  Consequently, we now spend our weekends and holidays in our Keswick home and our working week based out of the family home in Leicestershire.

Since completing an undergraduate and postgraduate engineering education I have spent most of my career working for an American multi-national.  I am president of a $500M division with business predominantly in Europe and the Middle East.  Although now having general manager responsibilities and therefore full commercial responsibility my career was built in operations with a focus on global supply chains.  My experience encompasses strategic planning, operations, financial performance management, relationship management and business development. In 2023, I became Chair of Trustees for the Lake District Calvert Trust.

Trustee
Hannah Richardson

I moved to Keswick in September 2022, where my husband BJ (Bart-Jan) and I own and run Woodside B&B. I came with the ambition to get involved in the community and bring my experience in the charity sector to a local cause, and the Lake District Calvert Trust feels like a great fit. As well as joining the Board in April 2023, I was also invited to be Chair of the Friends of the Calvert Trust, and I am loving working with the enthusiastic members of our committee.  I bring a specialism in fundraising, having spent my career working at international, national and local organisations. I have experience of sitting around the Board table, both through working in senior fundraising roles, and serving terms as a Trustee at a small brain tumour charity and at a hospice. In between working to ensure our B&B guests have a magical time in this beautiful part of the world, I can be found wandering the fells and dales, swimming, and enjoying the local theatre and cinema!

Trustee
Emily Flynn

Emily joined the board as a trustee in November 2021.  With over 20 years’ service in the military, she brings a wide spectrum of experience in leadership, digital optimisation, operations and risk management.

A keen mountaineer, she has climbed all over the world and has served as a member of the RAF’s Mountain Rescue Service. Introduced to mountaineering and outdoor education during initial military training, she is a huge advocate for the benefits that outdoor pursuits can offer and this was her motivation to volunteer as a trustee for the Lake District Calvert Trust.

Trustee
Charlotte Hubbard

I grew up in the Lake District and have a lifelong connection to Calvert Lakes—learning to ride at the stables and swim in the Calvert pool as a child. I began volunteering at the stables in 2010, which led to a paid role as a Groom. I’ve continued to volunteer ever since, qualifying as a riding and carriage driving coach and continue to deliver sessions every weekend. I also support the stables as volunteer coordinator, helping others get involved with this special place.

Beyond Calvert Lakes, I’ve ridden since the age of four and have volunteered at several RDA groups, gaining valuable experience in inclusive equestrian activities. I’ve worked for the British Horse Society and have an insight into the commercial side of riding schools, with an understanding of both the operational and educational aspects of equestrian centres.

Professionally, I’ve built a career in access and rights of way. I previously worked as a Planning Inspector and now advise on commons and public access matters at a land agency. I dedicate my time outside of work as an advocate for access and inclusion, including speaking at Parliament and campaigning to improve countryside accessibility.

I have prior experience as a trustee in the charity sector and I am passionate about creating opportunities for people of all abilities to enjoy the outdoors. In my spare time, I love hiking the fells, horse riding, and paddleboarding.

Trustee
Srin Madipalli

Srin started his professional career as a corporate lawyer in the City of London at a leading global firm; and then received an MBA at the University of Oxford. At Oxford, Srin started to learn to code and discovered his love of making technology products to make life easier for people.

Creating Accomable was borne out of Srin’s love of travel and wanting to solve all the challenges he faced to make it easier for others with disabilities to explore the world. In the last few years, Srin has travelled the world and has done everything from scuba diving in Bali to a camping safaris in Southern Africa; despite having a severe physical disability and 24/7 care support.

Srin is now a global ambassador for technology, entrepreneurship and inclusion, and in recent years, has delivered talks to the United Nations, to members of Congress, the Paralympics and a number of leading corporations and NGOs around the world.
