One day courses for you and your team
With over 40 years’ experience of leading the way in accessible outdoor adventure, Calvert Lakes is a not-for-profit charity based in the Lake District. We help people of all ages with a range of disabilities overcome challenges and experience the benefit of the great outdoors.
As we move towards ever more inclusive and representative workplaces and environments, we are delighted to introduce Calvert Lakes’ Disability Awareness and Inclusion Activity Days for businesses.
As a forward-thinking, inclusive organisation, we can help you build on how you embrace and cater for a diverse workforce – allowing your people to shine and your business to thrive. In return, you’ll be supporting a key UK charity.
A classroom-based morning exploring the definition of disability, terminology and language, models of disability, communication, disability and inclusion in the workplace – including an overview of the latest legislation and barriers to participation.
Lunch is followed by an inclusive activity that re-enforces the morning’s learning, putting theories into practice and bringing disability awareness to life. It may be canoeing on Bassenthwaite, our exhilarating high ropes course or if the weather doesn’t play ball – climbing in the sports hall.
Whether you are an individual considering how best to use your time and expertise to volunteer; a business – small or large – thinking about giving back to your community; or simply want to show your support through sponsorship or individual giving – there are many ways you can support us.
